Derek Barnhart is in his 18th year of coaching with this being his 5th year at Pittsburg.  Barnhart serves as the Varsity Defensive Tackles coach, JV Defensive Coordinator, and the Head Boys Track Coach.

Coach Barnhart has spent all of his time serving East Texas with coaching stops at Harts Bluff for basketball, and football at Paul Pewitt, Mt. Pleasant, Dekalb, and finally here at Pittsburg.

Coach Barnhart has been married to his wife Carol for 24 years and they have one son, Isaac.  Go Pirates!
